The Silver Factory

We love a good tee here at Hostess HQ so naturally we're delighted to hear that the wonderful Shutterbug is to stock a collection of fierce t-shirts by Kilkenny-based young desigener Cameron from The Silver Factory. Cameron designs and screen prints these t-shirts himself . Every single t-shirt that goes out is handprinted thats right;from the cutting of the stencil to the actual screen printing making these little wearable peices of art.

Available from the 10th of August from Shutterbug and online.

Russian Doll

I'm a big fan of Scarlett Hearts and their kitsch and vintage inspired handmade jewellery. Oh yes, jewels and goodies with affordable price tags without comprimising on originality and quality. Interesting pieces sourced from a variety of places inspired by fast fashion trends and close friends.

I just purchased numbers; 4, 7 and 8 to add to my collection of babushka items.

Dreamcatcher

I've always been intrigued by Native American culture and dream catchers fascinate me. Traditionally, the Ojibwa made dream catchers by tying sinew strands in a web around a small round or tear-shaped frame of willow. The result hung above the bed, is used as a charm to protect sleeping children from nightmares. Only good dreams would be allowed to filter through. Bad dreams would stay in the net, disappearing with the light of day. Good dreams would pass through and slide down the feathers to the sleeper.

I managed to make my very own about eight years ago but have since lost it. I feel nows the time to make another...
