Kriss Soonik launched her first collection in 2008 introducing her signature talent for giving the “underwear as outerwear” concept a fresh and modern twist. When the traditional approach has been about corsets as eveningwear, Kriss Soonik has started a new wave – wearing velour gowns to a Sunday brunch. In 2009 the term “loungerie” was born. Loungerie is luxe loungewear at its freshest, blurring the boundaries with fashion. It is loungewear with an edge.

Goodnight, Bordello

I am absolutely gutted to hear that luxury undies shop Bordello is closing down. Bordello always attracted me to the shop because of their amazing layout and window display, giving it more of a boudoir feel then a boutique. Their furnishings alone were to die for and their staff always looked really slick. This, along with the fact that they regularly had in store events, made the place a destination. So you see why I'm sad to see it go.



Then I thought to myself; I've never actually bought anything there.......mostly due to the fact that I used to pass Bordello on my way to work, when one is not in the most lingerie buying mood. Also because of the prices. They were pretty astronomical. I always presumed that people who shopped there were fancy high paid flirty 30's and somewhere in my psyche I thought that soon, I might join them. Realistically, I think I was just like everyone else. Admiring from afar, thinking someone else was buying it.

Australian brand Lover is known for it's gorgeous quality. Started by creative couple Susien Chong and Nic Briand in 2001, they somehow know the secret to creating mind blowing styles that are still simple, timeless and wearable. Created in 2004 by Emma Parker 'Playful Promises' is a London designed lingerie brand which mixes playful flirty ideas with quirky and directional design. Offering everything from garters to shoes this is a one stop love-in. Founded by Ms Parker a self proclaimed 'excitable eccentric' you can be sure to find plenty of pinup inspired and lust inducing garments of mass seduction and with a motto like this no wonder us Hostesses love them so....

"Playful Promises is for sassy fashionable girls, who like to say ‘I did it my way’ (preferably loudly firstly to the Frank Sinatra version followed by the Sex Pistols), but who are confident enough to not take themselves too seriously and know that life is there to be lived."
