Finding The Perfect Foundation

I obviously mustn't have too much wrong in a my life right now when my hardest decision is choosing a new foundation, With the upgrade in camera I've found that the images are much sharper and clearer ie showing the even the most minute imperfections. Basically I now need to upgrade foundation too! So Maybelline mouse you shall be left behind in favour of something with better coverage. I don't want anything too thick of heavy though as I have a phobia of 'the cake face'.

Here's my trial with Chanel's new foundation; VITALUMIÈRE FLUIDE

Thoughts? Suggestions?

  1. I mentioned this foundation chart a while back in a post: http://www.temptalia.com/foundation-matrix
It's mainly to do with skin tones but I found it really handy as I've been searching for something a little paler forever. Also, I didn't realise that many foundations existed. Lol. =)

  2. I just switched back to MAC Studio Fix Fluid from Revlon Photoready. Always found the MAC too heavy, but then some genius gave me the idea to mix it with an illuminator, so I went out and got No. 7's liquid highlighter, mixed them..and it was perfect! No cakey face but still good coverage.

Also want to try Topshop's Skin Glow as a mixer!

  3. I used to use Chanel's Teint Innocence, but found it really dried out my skin. I switched to the cheaper and in my opinion far superior MAC Studio Sculpt foundation. It's not too heavy, and gives the most wonderful coverage- I find it certainly gets rid of all my imperfections! Also, because I'm extremely pale, I found it hard to match my skin tone, but the MAC colour is wonderfully natural.

    Good luck! :)

  5. Hi Blau

As a makeup artist ive come across lots of foundations. Ive got combination skin. Small bit dry sometimes and normal. Ive used Mac Face and Body For the last few years. Its moisturising and gives nice coverage. You can use a concealer after to cover any little blemishes and add your powder then. It last all day! It cost about @36 For a plastic bottle (very decent size too!) You can only get them in dublin bt .Ive used mine on fashion shows shoots ect and still have it after 1year 6months! Its very light on the face not cakey at all. Comes in all shades.
    And blends so easily!
I find alot of the other macs too thick and cakey and i dont like the feel of that on my face.
So i would defo give it a try and its very economical with the price tag and size of the bottle!!
    Hope this helps!
