Pucker Punch

The one confusing thing about fashion and beauty blogging is the occasional inability to know what season it is. Between forward planning my AW12/13 fashion moodboard, snooping through the Resort 2013 shows and currently living in SS12 the mind cant be decided on whet er I want my lips stained a rich red in autumnal tones or a pop pink to brighten the Irish summer? Whether way I just want bold lips packed with attitude that pack at pucker punch!

Tea and Tulips

So I have a major blogger crush on Stefanie of Steffy's Pros and Cons who also happens to have her own clothing store called Tea and Tulips where you can purchase some of the amazing vintage pieces she has worn in her outfit posts. The darling of retro she approaches fashion with a charming and quirky attitude. From vintage dresses and off beat accessories this vintage-influenced beauty safely secures the title of 'Queen of Kitsch'. Her online store Tea and Tulips contains a treasure trove of pre-loved garments and thankfully delivers worldwide

My in store favourites.

Loulou Loves You

I'm a complete sucker for a pretty collar right now and these beauties from Loulou Loves You are the cutest collars on the scene. From luxurious silk brocade backed in one hundred percent black silk taffeta to planet, stars & moon print cotton, with a silk taffeta underside. These collars are edged with a delicate and cute black pom pom trim and a Satin ribbon bow at the centre. They shape beautifully around the neck and are perfect for styling everything from dresses to simple t.shirts as well as fitting over your usual shirt collar to create a new look. I want the entire collection, pretty please.

Nailing It

One thing that I've developed along with my Pinterest addiction is a refocus to all the little details that help make or break an overall look. One element which has been until recently largely neglected by myself is the creative field of nail art. I'm subscribed to mistress of quirky miss Zooey Deschanel and my does she know how to work her nails from her tuxedo nails to the adorable Beatles manicure she never fails so buy attention to every detail. Inspired by this my looking for easy and cute ways to update my nail varnish collection with clean pastels, luxurious glitter and jewels. Forget Rimmel just get the Deschanel look.

A Wispy Love Affair

Spring is in the air and I'm in the mood for something loose, soft, feminine and delicate. I want to embrace womanly whimsy in an air of abandoned prairie meets runaway princess. A wispy love affair of simple teased perfection and whispered elegance.

Starting with a simple braid...

Love In A Hopeless Place

Long time Hostess readers will know I'm a massive fan of the Australian ladies behind Hopeless Lingerie. In less than three years of existence, Hopeless Lingerie has managed to set a new standard in creativity and style. Taking inspiration from such diverse places as B-grade horror films, architecture and modern art, designer Gabrielle Adamidis with the help of her sister Dominique have established a strong following through innovative designs. Combining vintage aesthetics with modern comfort and convenience, Hopeless create pieces that aim to make women feel sexy and beautiful.

Obesity and Speed

Lyz Olko and Josh Conner met in 2000 and were bound by their young and restless energy. They bonded over misfit music from the 80s and a love for dangerous looking clothing. Liz and Josh started their label in 2006 and named it "Obesity + Speed" referencing lyrics from an obscure Huggy Bear song. Their designs include skull and cross bones motifs, pentagramatic imagery, with handmade shredded seams and deconstructed details.

Product Lust; Aveda Tourmaline Charged Radiant Skin Refiner

It's that time of year when the season changes and you begin to find yourself dashing between the rain showers and shielding your delicate self from the harsh winds. That or you live in Cork and it's starting to rain everyday instead of every second day. Either way it's time I started reinvesting in my skincare routine. So this week I went and bought myself Aveda's Tourmaline Charged Radiant Skin Refiner and I'm so glad I did. A creamy, clay-based scrub exfoliates with bamboo extract and energizes with tourmaline to leave skin radiant and refined. It's my new weekly beauty secret...ssshhh!

Screen Siren

I'm currently hunting for the final items for my mistress boudoir, all I need now is an antique dressing screening or large fan. Once the my last treasure has been secured I can concentrate on parading around in delicate pantaloons as above.
