The Great Wardrobe Swap

I've been waiting for this day for months. The day when I swap over my wardrobes from Winter to Summer. I've done it annually since moving to London and having to share my flat with my mister (something about "compromise", blah blah blah) and space being of the optimum.

So yearly, it gets vacum packed and put under the couch. The best part? I completly forget about half the stuff I own!

This year I totally forgot about my green 50's tea dress, strapless lime pencil dress and the playsuits- oh the playsuits! I can't believe I forgot about these beauties, but thats what frozen noses do to you. It's like someone handed me a whole new wardrobe already packed with memories.

Many outfit posts to follow.

Yoko Kimono

I've always longed to own a kimono and here's my chance to get my hands on a more wearable version via River Island and Topshop.

Hello, I'd like a sexy Summer face, please

So with Summer looming fast, it comes to the most hypocritical time of year for me. Protecting myself in the sun is a given; I'm Irish- not Hispanic and while I love the feeling of a tan, that beachy tightness on your skin, the few freckles on the nose, I cannot relax knowing the damage I'm doing to my skin. And neither should you.

So I'v been using Becca, a little known Australian Brand that has somewhat of a cult following. The Brand ethos is about creating flawless and natural finish to the skin, making it look amazing. Their USP is a promise to provide a foundation for every skin type. I use their primer (SPF 30) every day, but as the evenings get longer, I'm loving their Shimmering Skin Protector (SPF 25), which basically makes you glow. Use it under your foundation, or on its own with a touch of concealer and blusher for a natural looking Summer glow. It's truly is a beautiful secret weapon we should all sneak into our make up purse.

Five Key Hair Looks- SS11

The Low Bun

The Top Knot gone grown up. We've matured from the masses of hair on top of the crown (a look I loved by the way) and now its just moved lower. With the arrival of The Black Swan, I'm really not surprised to see this. Ballet fans keep it slick, messy bettys will backcomb the hell out of it.

The Temple Weave

This finger weave has taken off big time. Weather softer and a little imperfect, or sprayed and Kirby gripped, it makes one hell of an impact. For a how to, try here

    Sleek Partings

Everyone seems to be growing out their fringe at the moment. Sleek partings make soft florals and peachy make up strong.

70's Accessories

The 70's vibe was all over this season. So our heads are going to be adorned with scarves and floppy hats. Not a giant flower to be seen- thank goodness.

No Blow Drys

Gone are the "set" look famed by Miss Cole(- or is it Tweedy?I 'm so uncool) And a more textured, free look seems to be wandering about. I recommend some Woolshake from Redken, stat.

Crochet Story

I'm having a love affair with homespun and handcraft vibes of the 70s. Think of me as a Hippie McGraw in a film called 'Crochet Story'. I love the pared down simplicity and light feminity of this floaty airy white material. So for clever updates for my SS'11 wardorbe I've gone for a crochet Peter Pan collar from Asos that will be worn with any top or teadress pittied against my Penneys (Primark) boots and crochet frill scoks from Urban Outfitters. For a more authentic homemade feel though I think I'd like to learn how to crochet myself.....
